Exclusive Peek: Miami’s Waterfront Italian Eatery, Casadonna

Tao Group Hospitality, renowned for its extravagant dining establishments, continues its legacy with the inauguration of Casadonna. This coastal Italian restaurant, located in Miami, offers picturesque views of Biscayne Bay. The fusion of a beachfront setting and maritime-inspired design harmonizes with a menu dedicated to Italian ingredients and culinary techniques, with a particular focus on regions like Naples and Positano.

Casadonna represents a unique endeavor for Tao Group, emphasized by David Grutman, founder of Groot Hospitality. Grutman remarked, “Casadonna is unlike anything we’ve ever done before. From the fresh Italian menu to its unbeatable waterfront views, we see Casadonna bringing something new to Miami dining—and we know it will be unforgettable.”

The culinary experience at Casadonna showcases signature dishes such as crispy young artichoke, royal dorade aqua pazza, and bistecca Fiorentina. The restaurant also features a crudo bar offering delicate options like langoustine ceviche, tuna carpaccio, and caviar, preceding delectable handmade pastas like agnolotti, campanelle Bolognese, and scialatelli al limone, garnished with more caviar for a touch of luxury. To complement the offerings, Casadonna provides a selection of Dolce Vita-inspired cocktails and an extensive wine list.

This venture marks Tao Group’s entrance into the Miami culinary scene, and it introduces a blend of opulence to the Magic City. Located within a Mediterranean-revival building listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, Casadonna boasts a multi-room layout that can accommodate up to 366 guests. Designed by Ken Fulk, the restaurant’s discrete spaces each exude a distinct ambiance. The double-height Courtyard Bar creates an enchanting garden-like atmosphere, complete with a retractable roof and a second-story arcade. In contrast, the Loggia Dining Room features parquet wood floors and custom blown-glass chandeliers. At the back, the Ocean Bar allows patrons to enjoy al fresco dining on the bay-facing terrace.

Noah Tepperberg, the co-CEO of Tao Group, expressed his excitement about the venture, stating, “It’s an honor to be in such an important landmark within the city, and it’s exciting to have partnered with Groot Hospitality on this venture. David and his team know Miami deeply, and with our combined strengths, I have no doubt Casadonna is going to become an instant classic.”

With Tao Group’s track record of establishing renowned restaurants worldwide, Casadonna’s status as an instant classic seems inevitable.
